Foundation of the Musée POP’s Campaign for the Creation of a New Children’s Exhibition

The Musée POP Foundation is launching a major fundraising campaign for the creation of an entirely new children’s exhibition in 2025. Interested donors, especially those making their first significant donation to culture, may qualify for a very attractive tax credit!

The Musée POP Foundation
The Musée POP Foundation aims to support the institution’s mission. Funds raised enable the implementation of new exhibition projects and cultural activities, thereby promoting Quebec’s culture to new generations and newcomers while instilling a sense of pride among all Quebecers.

Our Major Project: A New Children’s Exhibition
Currently, the youth adventure exhibition “The DNA of Superheroes” has garnered praise from children, parents, and educators. However, there is already a plan to renew our children’s exhibition, which is a pivotal project for the Foundation. Musée POP aims to offer its young audience a specially designed exhibition for children aged 4 to 12, themed around Quebec’s tales and legends. We envision it to be engaging, educational, and inclusive, slated for launch in 2025. According to Pierre Lemieux, President of the Musée POP’s Board of Directors, “Our museum is committed to providing enriching experiences to its visitors, particularly its young audience. The project of a new children’s exhibition aligns perfectly with this commitment.

A donation in culture, a commitment to future generations

This is the slogan with which the Foundation will approach its donors in the coming weeks. All donations are welcome, but a special effort will be made to attract donors making their first significant donation in culture, as they qualify for a very advantageous tax credit. Indeed, the provincial government has introduced a measure that adds an additional 25% tax credit for a first significant donation in culture (from $5,000 to $25,000), in addition to existing provincial and federal tax credits. For example, a $5,000 donation qualifies for a total tax credit of $3,629, resulting in a net cost of donation of $1,371, representing a 72% tax credit. This is an exceptionally attractive philanthropic opportunity!

As highlighted by the President of the Foundation, Mr. Jacques Picard, “The Foundation’s raison d’être is to financially support the mission of the Musée POP. With this project of a new exhibition for children, there is no doubt that we will convince donors to support our cause! Moreover, a donation in culture can be very advantageous from a tax perspective.”
